How to Culture Moina Like a Pro

1. The Setup
You do not need an aquarium filter. Moina hate strong currents.
- Container: A 20-liter bucket or an old fish tank.
- Water: Use aged aquarium water (rich in bacteria) or dechlorinated tap water.
- Aeration: Very Low. Use an air stone set to just 1-2 bubbles per second. This prevents a “scum layer” from forming on top without exhausting the Moina.
2. The Secret Food Recipe
Moina are filter feeders. They eat bacteria and yeast suspended in the water column.
